Congrats! You’re engaged and officially planning your wedding! It’s a large undertaking and being both a photographer and videographer that is quite involved in the planning process I’m stoked that you found your way here to look into venues! While I personally LOVE these venues, there are TONS more to choose from. So if you don’t see one you connect with, that’s ok! The search will continue and I promise with enough gumption you’ll find the perfect one. Without further adieu…
Did you know that Reno is only a 30-45 minute drive from Lake Tahoe?! As my home town I personally love how close it is to the Lake without having to deal with all the tourists that come in during the summer. Getting married in Reno over Tahoe has some advantages like being a bit more affordable, still having close lake proximity, and an assortment of other activities that you can do.
The Elm Estate
One of my favorite places in the Reno area due to the BIG WHITE HOUSE or also known as “The Elm House”. This venue is incredible in location, having a view of downtown as well as the Truckee River (and access to take photos with both!) as well as gorgeous getting ready areas for both parties AND cottages you can rent for before, during or after your stay. Can you imagine coming back and staying on every anniversary!? What I love most about this beautiful venue is that it combines elegance with nature and a city scape.
The Virgil
Situated closer to the downtown area of Reno, The Virgil is a newer venue that is in a beautiful old church with tons of gorgeous natural lighting! From unique angles to classic shots this venue screams WEDDING! The offering of an urban feel is truly unique and unlike a lot of other venues in the area.
Las Cascadas
Beautifully landscaped gardens and architecture that makes you feel like you might just be getting a little tuscan. This venue provides the perfect escape from the Reno scene and leaves you wanting to change your honeymoon destination.
Tannenbaum
Half way to Tahoe and Reno, this venue is in the perfect position to enjoy both. You can leave family behind in Reno and leave for Tahoe at the end of the night or join them for the nightlife of Reno. Round About Catering has the most amazing food in the area and provides everything you need to have the most perfect day. The view from your ceremony spot is pretty unmatched and it’s the kind of venue that makes you feel just so at home.
Sierra Water Gardens
The gorgeous lushness of this venue makes you feel like you might have left behind the world that you knew and stepped into a fairytale. The Hytch rents this venue exclusively so you get the benefit of their whole team of expertise behind you. This venue is also so customizable to any theme you can imagine!
Rancharrah
Upscale Reno let’s GO! Packing elegance & luxury into one venue can be such a huge feat but this venue has it covered. If you want to feel like a true princess this might be the perfect venue for you!
The thing you need to know about Tahoe is… There a BAJILLION places to get married and even more reasons to do so! Being right on the lake is so nice not only for yourselves if you’re planning on staying up there a few days but also for your guests. Many Tahoe venues are close to hotels which makes it easy to block off rooms! You still have the fun of the casinos and tons of shopping! The biggest draw is the views you can get by having your venue up here. I mean Lake Tahoe is one of the largest alpine lakes and it’s water is as close to pure drinking water as you can probably get, so being able to look out over it while you say “I Do” and then play in it for days after is a huge plus!
Heavenly Lake Tahoe
Situated in South Lake Tahoe and close to everything. Taking a gondola to the top for your wedding is an experience that won’t soon be forgotten by your guests. From dancing under the sparkling lights to looking out over the lake, this venue is pretty top notch!
The Chateau
The Chateau is that classic Tahoe Venue – beautiful green lawns, pine trees, and a gorgeous indoor reception space. There’s so much to love about this place and a large part of that is the ease of booking and setting everything up. Being so close to different hotels in incline village and also to Reno this is a pretty easy venue to fall in love with.
Round Hill Pines
Have you dreamed of a wedding on the beach? This might be the perfect venue for you! Imagine walking barefoot down the aisle with up to 250 guests in attendance – they’ve got you covered! The panoramic views of Tahoe and Mt Tallac provide the perfect backdrop to your beach wedding!
Tahoe Blue Estate
A unique and different sort of story. That’s what I think of when I think of Tahoe Blue Estates. It’s this beautiful mountain home situated seemingly above the trees where you have a gorgeous view of the lake. You rent this gorgeous home for 3 nights and can stay in it before and after your wedding! How fun would it be to do that with your bridal party or the fam?!
Valhalla Tahoe
A historic Tahoe building, a giant rock fireplace for your vows, and basically an outdoor playground for photos. Valhalla provides the perfect backdrop for your rustic, Tahoe charm wedding.
West Shore Cafe
What do we love about a historic building and Tahoe venue? Maybe private beach access and one hell of a cool dock for your ceremony! Or maybe it’s the ability to have your ceremony at the top of Homewood where you have killer views of Lake Tahoe! There’s something about this place that has just the right amount of space, natural lighting, and Tahoe vibes that just hits home.
White Wolf Tahoe
A little out of the way but with a whole lot of the most amazing mountain views you can imagine! This place is exclusive, rustic, and outdoorsy! For all my adventurous couples this might be the perfect place for you!
The Hideout
Easily one of the most unique venues of all time. The Hideout lives true to it’s name and is a secluded venue that makes your wedding day feel like a fairytale. They have several amazing amenities to offer their guests and can house up to 16 before during and after your wedding. A huge standout to me? The 30 person natural heated granite hot tub. I think of this place as being the BE ALL for the wedding activities you might want to include before and after your ceremony.
