Your wedding, but make it only the people who actually matter.

Micro Wedding Photographer & Videographer - Lake Tahoe & Beyond

A Lake Tahoe micro wedding isn't a compromise. It's a choice: to go deeper instead of wider. To rent the dream house overlooking the lake, say your vows with 30 of your favorite people, and dance until 2am because everyone stayed.
I've shot micro weddings in Costa Rica, in the woods, on cliffs above the Pacific — and I'll tell you honestly: the party at a micro wedding hits different. The energy is electric when everyone in the room is someone who truly belongs there.
If that sounds like your kind of celebration, keep reading.

This is for the couple who thought about a big wedding and felt... nothing. Or maybe dread.
You want to actually be present for your own day, not managing logistics or performing for 200 people you kind of know. You want your inner circle. The ones who have shown up, who know your story, who will be on the dance floor until the venue kicks everyone out.

You've been dreaming of something that feels luxurious and intentional like a private villa in the hills above a California vineyard, a tucked-away estate on the Oregon coast, a glass-walled cabin nestled into the woods at Lake Tahoe.

You don't want to feel like you're performing. You want to feel like yourself — and have every single one of those real, unposed, deeply you moments documented in a way that actually does them justice.
That's exactly what I'm here for.

who this is for...

Twenty to fifty people, everyone staying together, no one leaving early because there's nowhere better to be.

the process

It's incredibly important to me that we actually connect. My couples are intentional, full of life, and know what they want — and the best photos and film happen when we truly get each other. If you're reading this and something in you is saying yes, this is it, we're already on the right track. I love to hop on a call to make sure we vibe before anything else.

CONNECTION

Once you're ready, let's lock it in. After choosing your package, I'll send over an online proposal with a custom contract, invoice, & payment schedule. Once your 25% retainer is paid & the contract is signed, your date is secured & the fun begins.

MAKE IT OFFICIAL

Micro weddings move fast and feel intimate — so the engagement session or value hour matters even more here. It's a chance for us to get comfortable with each other before the day arrives. Already have engagement photos? No problem. I offer a value hour with every package — use it to add time to your wedding day or save it for a day-after session (hello, golden hour in the forest the morning after).

ADDING VALUE

I'm genuinely here to help with planning — all of it. From venue recommendations to vendor referrals to timeline building, I've got you. And if you want to go deeper on the wedding planning side of things, my podcast *When in White* is basically a free resource for exactly that. Consider me in your corner from the moment you book.

PLANNING

After the big day, I'll deliver an online gallery packed with beautiful images — roughly 60 photos per hour of coverage. You'll have access within 4 - 8 weeks (often sooner!) & then you can download, share, & print directly from the gallery. If you added video, your video arrives edited & ready to relive within 8-12 weeks.. Grab a bottle of wine... & enjoy every single moment.

kind words

"Alley is amazing. I cannot say it enough. She is an angel who captured the beauty and joy from our wedding day forever in the photos she took and we are forever grateful."

- Deven

"I love love love Alley, she is the sweetest person and was so kind and understanding during me and my husband's wedding. Her work is beautiful and she was amazing to work with — I can't wait to have her capture more of our life moments from here on out."

- Ari

"We had a non traditional wedding & Alley Rose worked with us to create a custom package... we took the most magical photos ever in the forest & climbing up rocks. She did an incredible job capturing the beautiful mountain ridges behind us on the beach while not washing out my family & friends in the foreground. She's clearly skilled, efficient, & easy to talk to. Even though my brain had been reduced to a checklist timeline up until the second we walked down the aisle, she didn't make me feel weird or too intense. It was a lovely experience & the photos are amazing."

- Lauren

Yes — and it's one of my favorite things to offer. I shoot photo and film together, so your day is covered cohesively without two separate teams or two different strangers in your space. For intimate celebrations especially, that makes a big difference.

Can you shoot both photo and video for our micro wedding?

Absolutely — and honestly, micro weddings are some of my favorite destinations. I'm based in the Reno/Lake Tahoe area and regularly travel to Big Sur, Sonoma, Napa, the Pacific Northwest, Hawaii, Costa Rica, Italy, and beyond. Travel fees vary by location, so just mention where you're dreaming of and we'll work through the details together.

Do you travel for micro weddings?

A micro wedding is typically an intimate celebration with 20–50 guests — smaller than a traditional wedding, but larger than an elopement. Think: a private estate or stunning rental home, a ceremony that feels personal, a dinner where you actually get to talk to everyone, and a dance floor that doesn't quit. All the heart of a big wedding, none of the overwhelm.

What is a micro wedding, exactly?

Frequently asked questions

How far in advance should we book?

Most couples book 6–12 months out, especially for peak Tahoe dates (summer and fall go fast). Destination weddings — Italy, Costa Rica, Big Sur — often book even further out. If your date is sooner, reach out anyway. I'll always let you know if I'm available.

How many photos will we receive?

Roughly 60 per hour of coverage — and I deliver every good image from your day. I only cut repeats and technical failures. Your day deserves to be fully documented, not edited down to a curated highlight reel.

What's your style?

Candid, cinematic, and emotional. I'm not here to pose you and call it a day. I want your photos to feel like moments you actually lived — light, real, and full of the things that made your day yours. For micro weddings specifically, that means leaning into the connection between your guests, the glow of that dinner table, the dance floor chaos, the quiet in-between moments only possible when you're surrounded by your people.

Do you shoot destination micro weddings?

Yes — and I love them. I've shot in Costa Rica, around California, and throughout the Pacific Northwest. Some of my favorite destinations for intimate weddings include Lake Tahoe, Big Sur, the Sonoma and Napa wine country, the Oregon coast, and internationally in places like Italy's Amalfi Coast and Tuscany. If you have a dreamy location in mind, I am very much in.

Have a story to tell? I’d love to hear it. Let’s begin with a simple note.
