If You’ve been dreaming of a Tuscan wedding, Las Cascadas wedding venue in Reno might be exactly what you’ve been looking for – no passport required! You may know that traveling is one of my main passions and as a Reno wedding photographer I’m lucky enough to do that often! There’s something about photographing love in a brand new place that never gets old. But sometimes the dream of a Tuscan wedding isn’t exactly realistic – the flights, the budget, the logistics of getting your entire guest list across an ocean. At least, that was true until Las Cascadas really bloomed!
This venue is a gold mine for specialty curated shots that give you that full Italian feeling without ever leaving the Reno Tahoe area. The architecture, the greenery, the way the light moves through the property – it all works together to create something that feels worlds away from northern Nevada. Pair it with some limoncellos and a warm golden evening and you’re literally living the dream! It works just as beautifully for a big celebration as it does for an intimate wedding or elopement, which is part of what makes it so special.
After shooting here, I’ve found certain spots that consistently deliver the most romantic, editorial, downright swoony images. So whether you’re still venue hunting or you’ve already booked, here are my favorite places around Las Cascadas to capture you and your person.

It’s like stepping back into a sleepy little village in the Italian countryside. With the weathered wooden door, the iron sconces mounted on the wall, and the sun warmed pavers underfoot, this spot feels like you’re walking up to your future with Italy on the brain. I love this bright, full sun moment for a first look – there’s nowhere to hide and that’s the magic of it. You can feel the light on your face, feel the warmth of your partner’s hands in yours, and see that unfiltered surprise and amazement in their eyes when they turn around and see you for the very first time. It’s honest, it’s emotional, and it photographs like a dream – whether captured on camera or on video.

This one is pure magic. The water arcing off the fountain catches the light just right, scattering it into something soft and glittery behind you. Your face is tipped up toward your partner, the world goes quiet, and everything narrows down to the two of you. This moment is iconic. Heart stopping. Beyond words. Later in the evening this same space will be alive and buzzing, filled with your guests laughing and celebrating through every moment of your reception – but for now, it’s all yours. It’s peaceful, it’s deserted, and it genuinely feels like it was designed for just the two of you to steal a quiet minute together. This is honestly one of my favorite moments to photograph at a Las Cascadas Reno wedding.

The entire property is wrapped in lush, established greenery – tall enough and full enough to block out the rest of the world in a way that makes you forget it’s even there. Tucked toward the back you’ll find one of the most gorgeous, secluded spots on the whole venue. You’re shaded by a canopy of leaves, hidden away from anyone else, and surrounded by that dreamy, layered green. It’s the kind of intimate, tucked away corner that makes for soft portraits that should honestly be a painting. It’s also a dreamy spot for an engagement session if you want a sneak peek of Las Cascadas before your Reno wedding day.

After the big commitment, or the “tying of the knot” if you will, the late afternoon sun filters through the arch just perfectly for warm, backlit sun flare shots. Not to mention the fountain is doing some serious heavy lifting in the background, the water trickling down and turning the light into little dancing sparkles. From there, the walk toward the reception takes you through a gorgeous tunnel of green – leafy and shaded and so romantic. It’s an easy, effortless spot to capture you both glowing and relaxed right after you’ve said your vows, still riding that post ceremony high.

When it’s time to dance, this venue has got you! Not necessarily in terms of the floor itself, but in the lighting – and trust me, lighting is everything for reception photos. The warm ambient glow creates such fun, dynamic shots when paired with flash, and I genuinely love shooting here for that reason. For anyone planning a real party, it’s so important to think about how your dance floor is decorated, because whatever ends up in the background will either ruin or completely elevate your photos. Las Cascadas does amazing here — you really can’t beat lush green shrubs and twinkling patio lights framing every shot. Not to mention the countless fire pits scattered throughout the property, giving your guests cozy little gathering spots to land in all night long.
Whether you’re just gathering ideas or you’ve already picked Las Cascadas as your venue, I hope you truly enjoy the feeling of stepping into another country right here at Las Cascadas in Reno! It’s romantic, it’s transportive, and it’s one of the most beautiful spots in the area to say I do – for weddings, elopements, and everything in between.
& if you’re still searching for your Reno wedding photographer and videographer, I would love to be considered to capture it all! Whether you want timeless photos, a cinematic wedding film, or both, there’s nothing I love more than telling a couple’s story in a place this special.
